DUBAI – UAE Air defence systems successfully intercepted a ballistic missile and 11 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Defence.

The swift engagement highlights the continued vigilance of national defence systems amid ongoing aerial threats. Authorities stated that operations remain active and coordinated to neutralise any incoming risks.

No martyrs, fatalities or injuries were reported in the past hours. Since the onset of the attacks, UAE air defences have engaged a total of 520 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles and 2,221 UAVs. These figures reflect sustained defensive operations aimed at protecting critical infrastructure and populated areas from aerial incursions.

The Ministry emphasised that all engagements are carried out with precision and adherence to established defence protocols.

The total number of injuries since the escalation stands at 221, involving individuals of multiple nationalities including Emirati, Pakistani, Indian and others. The overall number of martyrs remains at 2, alongside the martyrdom of a Moroccan civilian contracted with the Armed Forces. Civilian fatalities have reached 10, with victims from Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, Indian and Egyptian nationalities.

The Ministry of Defence reiterated that the UAE remains fully prepared to respond to any further threats, maintaining readiness to safeguard sovereignty, security and national stability.
